1)LaPaz / southern tip of Baja loop:
Meet us
with your own vehicle in LaPaz. We caravan together
and explore this unique landscape where the desert meets the sea. We camp
with our Mexican ranch friends and enjoy their remarkable hospitality and
their down-to-earth way of life. We also wilderness camp in the abundant canyons,
some with waterfalls and hot springs. With group consensus there is always
the opportunity to rent a house together or find overnight accommodation in
local B&Bs or hotels.
Activities include learning to make corn and flour tortillas, asissting in
all-day candy making, kayaking to islands off LaPaz, participating in local
school programs, as well as hiking through palm-lined canyons up to pools
and waterfalls or hot springs, or through virgin hardwood forests.
2)Road
trip from Gulf Islands, B.C., Canada, or from San Diego, California, USA via
Tecate down the Baja peninsula to LaPaz / Los Cabos.
Participants purchase a car of their choice and caravan with us on our yearly
journey south to the sun.
This journey consists of car camping along the Pacific Coast of the USA and
then through Baja's extraordinary desert landscape with its canyons, and mountains,
which contrast sharply to its waterways such as the Bay of Conception, the
many lagoons where the grey whales over-winter, the remarkable Sea of Cortez,
and of course, the Pacific Ocean. Activities are similar to those listed above
for the Baja Loop.
