Communication workshops with the Tinkerers, your Travel and Learn Mentors, focus on personal growth while exploring cultures, learning languages, and acquiring practical skills such as self-health care, plant identification, caravan and wilderness travel and feeling at home in foreign places. While travelling together in the world, participation in these practical and cultural activities naturally leads to learning new vocabulary.
Learn to express yourself in English / Spanish / or German and meet communities and people who have dedicated their energies to the development of earth-friendly technologies and way of life. Adding practical experience to immersion langauge learning creates a new dimension in education. Living, travelling and studying together are its vital elements. Small group instruction and practice in languages is reinforced by individual study.
Daily contact with native speakers provides opportunities to speak in real life situations. Teaching and mentoring is goal-oriented, and corrections are made with patience, diligence and kindness. Each participants' strengths and weaknesses are analyzed and teaching methodolgy is adjusted accordingly. Since we are a communication workshop, listening will be our most effective tool to stay in touch with the personal momentum necessary to reach our goals.
On all our travels, communication workshops with the Tinkerers are personalized learning experiences. The Tinkerers establish an overall intinerary which has flexibility in order to facilitate participation in activities, as individual pariticpants define their interests. Within each communication workshop, participants will take turns assuming leadership for daily activites so as to increase their confidence as they apply their language skills.
Participants learn correct pronunciation, applied grammar, idiomatic expressions, and an understanding of the spoken and written word in each chosen language.
